The Grounder — Handwoven Mohair Steer Tripping Collar

Built Cowboy Smart from Start to Finish.

———————————————————————-

This handcrafted tripping collar is made from 100% mohair, handwoven in a tan and cream diamond pattern—keeping your horse comfortable.

Mohair’s superior natural fiber offers just the right amount of give, along with softness, breathability, and durability. No rubbing. No pinching. Just a good fit that holds up.

What sets The Grounder apart is the additional cross-weaving detail woven throughout the body of the collar—a labor-intensive element that adds both form and function. This structure keeps every strand tight, stable, and secure. No sloppy movement. It’s the most time-consuming part of making a collar like this, but it’s what gives this piece its signature integrity and finish.

Premium Leather Tugs – Built Right

Each collar is finished with premium, hand-cut harness leather tugs, built with the kind of detail that separates real working gear from mass-produced junk.

Built right here in our shop by working cowboy and leather craftsman Reece Hutton, our tugs feature:

• Oval adjustment holes for smoother cinching and easier fit

• Skived buckle ends that lay clean and flat—no bulk, no bunching

• All rivets turned away from the horse—because comfort and common sense should come standard

• Stainless steel hardware that stands up to the sweaty, dusty miles without flinching

Specs:

• 36” long, tip to tip

• 17 strands, 3.5” wide

(Custom colors and width available—please include your preferences in the Notes box at checkout or email me directly at jeana@tumblingJ.com)
